“Just take it easy, one step at a time.” Wise words given to me almost every day by my husband. I’m always looking for the next best thing for The Baking Nurse, “I need to boost sales, I need to get more customers!” Just slow down!
I have paid for moving too fast when it comes to my business, especially when it comes to “the next best marketing technique that you have to try!” We all know when we hear that, it usually means our credit card information will be needed somewhere down the line. Oh the money I’ve spent on marketing, vendor opportunities, kitchen space, etc. all because I wanted to hurry and get more customers, just to be left in the red.
This thing called entrepreneurship can not be rushed, you can’t compare your year 1 to another persons year one. It’s not easy, it’s rarely fun, and it’s lonely. Rushing thorough it won’t make it any better, slow down, observe, learn, and grow.
Nothing in the world is worth having or worth doing unless it means effort, pain, difficulty… I have never in my life envied a human being who led an easy life. I have envied a great many people who led difficult lives and led them well.
― Theodore Roosevelt
The easier it comes, the easier it goes. The more you put into your business, the more looses you suffer, the more it’ll mean to you. Even if your business doesn’t make it, you got up and did something the majority people are afraid to do. You learned something some will never learn.
Your losses and failures will make you and shape you into someone you never knew could even exist. The things I have been through I never would have survived 3 years ago. Don’t stop, slow down, slow down and allow yourself to be molded into something amazing!
